The Sharan range boasts a new 103 kW / 140 hp TDI engine. The new power unit does its bit for the environment too, as not only does it comply with the Euro 4 emissions standard, but it can also be specified with a diesel particulate filter as an option. The fuel consumption figures make impressive reading too.

Its exceptional calibre is immediately apparent from its classy exterior, the lavishly styled interior and the exclusive, sporty equipment. The dynamic four-cylinder turbodiesel engine makes it the most powerful TDI model in the range. And its extraordinary talents don't stop there.

The head airbag system for protecting passengers in the front and rear as well as the "Climatronic" dual climate control system with separate controls for the front and rear are both included as standard on all models. Further extras, such as the first-class "gamma" radio system with 10 speakers in the new Sharan Sportline, can also be found on the standard specification list. But the biggest "extra" of all comes with every single Sharan model for free: the extra spaciousness.

As the name suggests, our new equipment package is perfect for people who also use their Sharan on a professional basis. The package comprises a radio/navigation system, the technical package including anti-theft alarm system and a radio remote control for the central locking. The package is rounded off by a host of worthwhile features such as a leather steering wheel, front fog lights, pre-fittings for a car phone plus much more besides.

No matter how stunning the landscape, long-distance journeys can start to drag after a while. Cue the Rear Seat Entertainment system from Volkswagen Individual, which is equipped with a DVD player and either a single or twin screens. An RCA connection even allows passengers in the rear to link up all manner of multimedia systems, from laptops to games consoles. The Rear Seat Entertainment system is available as an optional extra.
