Volkswagen Junior Masters Middle East Finals

The Volkswagen Junior Masters was established 11 years ago by Volkswagen AG as part of its commitment to support youth and sports around the world. This international youth tournament is aimed at boys under the age of 13 who compete in regional qualification rounds. The tournament began in Germany over a decade ago, and has since grown to include 4,700 players, 333 teams, and 245 dealers in its home country alone. Today, the tournament takes place in 23 countries worldwide.

Entry Rules for the Teams

  • Only soccer clubs or school teams are allowed to participate in the Volkswagen Junior Masters - National teams or any kind of all-star teams are not eligible
  • Each participant has to belong to the U13 age group
  • Each participant has to have a valid ID-card, passport or any official document to verify the children’s identity and age
  • All matches must be played according to the international approved rules of FIFA
  • All matches must be played on a regular pitch, i.e. sideline between 100 and 110 meters, goal line between 64 and 75 meters
  • Each squad should not exceed 16 players, since there are only limited accommodation capacities. Each country is only allowed to bring 20 persons (including coaches and Volkswagen representatives)

In 2011, the tournament took place for the second time in the Middle East. The markets Abu Dhabi, Dubai and The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia organized local tournaments in order to qualify the teams eligible to participate in the final competition. As a result of the local tournaments, eight teams took part in the Middle East Final held in Dubai, where the Volkswagen Junior Master East Champion was crowned.
In 2011, the tournament took place for the second time in the Middle East. The markets Abu Dhabi, Dubai and The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia organized local tournaments in order to qualify the teams eligible to participate in the final competition. As a result of the local tournaments, eight teams took part in the Middle East Final held in Dubai, where the Volkswagen Junior Master East Champion was crowned.
The winners of the local tournaments, which take place in each of the three markets on an annual basis, will join the Volkswagen Middle East Final Tournament. Subsequently, the Middle East Champion is entitled to participate in the Volkswagen Junior World Masters, which happens every two years (according to the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship). The upcoming Volkswagen Junior World Masters will be held in Poland in May 2012. Further dates will be announced soon.
