Interior Monitoring

Interior Monitoring

The new generation of the anti-theft alarm system incorporates a signal horn independent of the vehicle's power supply and a timer-controlled alarm in response to unauthorised opening of the door. The anti-theft alarm, including ultrasonic interior monitor, protects the doors, boot, engine compartment and vehicle interior against unauthorised access. The ultrasonic system also detects anyone seeking to enter the vehicle through a broken window. The interior monitoring system can be disabled, such as when leaving a pet in the vehicle for a short time. Locking the vehicle activates the anti-theft alarm, and unlocking deactivates it. Some Volkswagen models also feature tilt sensors as components of their anti-theft alarm systems. These register changes in the positioning of the vehicle (caused by attempted towing-away) and trigger an alarm in response. The anti-theft alarm initially sounds the horn for 30 seconds, accompanied by continuous flashing of the hazard warning lights.
